How to make Moisturizing Lip balm using spearminT essential oils

I've always wanted to create a lip balm because my goal is to eventually transition all my skincare products to natural alternatives. Lip balms are fantastic for keeping your lips soft and supple. They're essential during the cold winter months or if you're recovering from an illness, have sun damage, or are dehydrated. Every ingredient in this lip balm is moisturizing and soothing, making it perfect for dry or chapped lips.

For this recipe, I used:

0.5 oz Coconut oil, Cocos nucifera

0.5 oz Shea butter, Vitellaria paradoxa

0.5 oz Beeswax

0.11 oz Organic Vegetable Glycerin

9 drops of Spearmint essential oil, Mentha spicata (1% dilution, which is below the 1.7% dermal maximum)

Instructions:

Step 1: Melt the beeswax in a double boiler.

Step 2: Add the coconut oil, shea butter, and glycerin to the melted beeswax.

Step 3: Once everything is melted and well mixed, reduce the heat and add 5 to 9 drops of Spearmint essential oil.

Step 4: Quickly pour the mixture into lip balm containers. (Note: the lip balm containers are 0.15 oz, not 0.12 oz as stated in the video.)

Apply as needed and enjoy!
