My top 5 essential oils for women's health

kimberlymjane

My dedication to promoting women's health and well-being sparked when I embarked on the path to becoming a Clinical Aromatherapist.

Throughout my life, I have encountered - much like countless women - excruciating pain, discomfort, and fatigue stemming from dysmenorrhea (moderate to severe pain linked to the menstrual cycle). Furthermore, I have been grappling with identifying the root of my frequent gastrointestinal problems.

Entering a new stage in life has also introduced irritability, mood swings, and intense hot flashes - the phase known as perimenopause.

However, everything shifted dramatically because of my blends.

In the post, you will discover my top 5 favourite oils, one of which is a carrier oil, known for their ability to balance the endocrine system and support digestion. These oils have had a profound impact on how I feel.

  1. Juniperus communis, also known as Juniper Berry, is valued for its analgesic, antispasmodic, and antitoxic properties. It is highly effective in relieving discomfort caused by urinary tract infections, lowering body temperature, supporting the digestive system and liver, and acting as a rejuvenating and detoxifying agent.

  2. Pelargonium graveolens, also known as Geranium, is a great essential oil for supporting women's health concerns like endometriosis, menopausal symptoms, PMS, emotional distress, and can even aid in managing Candida albicans (Yeast Infections).

  3. Cupressus sempervirens, also known as Cypress, belongs to the same family as the Juniper Berry. This essential oil is highly effective in regulating the menstrual system, alleviating menstrual cramps, PMS, and spasmodic colitis.

  4. Pogostemon cablin, also known as Patchouli, emits a lovely musky fragrance as it reacts with oxygen. This essential oil has antidepressant properties and is beneficial for the skin and alleviating nausea.

  5. Origanum majorana, also known as Marjoram, is highly beneficial for the digestive system. It possesses calming and anti-spasmodic properties, making it effective for relieving abdominal pains, gastrointestinal disorders, indigestion, muscular pain by relaxing the muscles, IBS, and menstrual cramps.

Evening Primrose Oil, scientifically known as Oenothera biennis, is an excellent carrier oil that provides strong support for women's health. This beautiful oil is ideal for hormone balancing and is particularly beneficial for alleviating menstrual pain.

Using a lovely combination of one or more of these oils can have a considerable impact. My essential oils are meant for topical use only and should not be ingested.
